Annandale Distillery was built in 1830, and recently, after being unused for almost ninty years, was refurbished in 2007. The distillery now produces two types of single malt whisky, both matured in American oak barrels – an unpeated spirit that’s described as “smooth and sophisticated”, and a peated version is depicted as “strong and powerful”.

Bladnoch Distillery was originally founded in 1817 and is Scotland’s most southerly distillery. This Lowland distillery restarted distillation in 2017 and is currently releasing limited edition whiskies using old casks filled before Bladnoch fell silent. They are currently distilling and producing new whisky and hopefully will release new Single Malts in the future.

Daftmill Distillery is on a working family farm that converted three of their buildings into a distillery in 2003 and were granted their licence two years later. The whisky produced is not only made from malting barley grown on the farm, but is also made using water from Daftmill’s own natural spring. None of the maturing stock has yet been released, though samples from casks show that it is mature, balanced with a gentle herbal note, and very much ready for sale.

Eden Mill Distillery was resurrected in 2012 with their own, new and innovative take on Scottish craft brewing and distilling. Eden Mill Distillery produce small-batch whisky; distinctive, full of flavour using local water sourced. In 2018 they released their first Single Malt Whisky and there are multiple expressions available. They also produce a successful range of gins using traditional distillation methods, the range is always growing as they add new and exciting flavour combinations.

The Glasgow Distillery Company began malt whisky production in 2015. The spirit produced by Glasgow distillery’s two copper pot stills is light and fruity before maturation in casks and they currently have their Single Malt Scotch Whisky available for pre-order. They also produce a range of other spirits including Makar Gin and their Spiced Rum.
