Ardbeg Distillery was founded in 1815 and is one of many in the Isle of Islay. The Island has abundant soft water, fertile soil and acres of precious peat making the island the perfect place for the single malt whisky making. The Distillery is known for its this combination of rich sooty/tarry smoke with a citric sweet core which gives the whisky its balance. The core of their range is now the standard 10 year-old - an exuberant, fruity, peaty dram.

Caol Ila Distillery was built in 1846 and is the largest of the distilleries on the island of Islay. Caol Ila's distillery character manages to combine a fresh pear note, grassiness, a hint of juniper with distinct notes of the seashore – lobster shells, crab creels and gentle smoke.

Kilchoman distillery was founded in 2005 and is the first new distillery to be built on Islay for over 124 years. On the remote Island of Islay they distil Scotland’s only Single Farm Single Malt, hand-crafted from barley grown in the surrounding fields and malted on site.

Lagavulin Distillery was officially founded in 1816. Lagavulin is almost exclusively matured in ex-bourbon casks, meaning its robust, uncompromising smoke and salted-fish character and flavour is clear. Lagavulin whiskies are made with water from the Solan Lochs and the peat comes from the extensive peat bogs in the west of the island.

Laphroaig Distillery was founded in 1815 and their whisky making tradition has been handed down ever since. They have their own peat fields which are essential to produce their richly flavored Scotch whiskies. The Kilbride Stream where they get their water, hand-cut peat, floor malted barley, cold-smoking kilns, mash tuns, copper alchemy and the subtlety of oak aging are all essential processes.
