Built in 1896 and it was completely refurbished in the 1970s, and was mainly used to create for blended malts. The character of its single malts, now finally being given an official release, shows what the blenders have been keeping to themselves for all these years. In character, Aultmore is fragrant on the nose, substantial on the tongue.

The history of distilling on the Ballindalloch Estate dates back to the 1820’s. In 2011 they began construction of a malt whisky distillery in a 19th century farm steading, making it Scotland’s only whisky distillery to operate within a castle’s grounds and production officially began in late 2014. They have committed to waiting at least eight years before bottling any of Ballindalloch’s whisky, so their Single Malt Whisky is not ready but will be avalible in the future.

At Balvenie their whisky-making process is dedicated to maintaining the Five Rare Crafts and they are the only distillery in Scotland that still grows its own barley, uses traditional floor maltings and keeps both a coppersmith and a team of coopers on site. This traditional method gives the whisky its rich character and flavour.

Benrinnes Distillery was first founded sometime in the 1820s built on the edge of Ben Rinnes Mountain. After being destoryed in a flood it was rebuilt in the 1950s. Benrinnes has been adding the sherry-like qualities to blends for over half a century, and its expressions are unpeated.

Benromach Distillery make a classic Speyside single malt which is beautifully balanced with a light touch of smoke, and they started making whisky in 1900. They still make their whisky by hand using Scottish barley grown locally and malted with a little peat smoke to our exact specifications. The water they use comes from the Chapelton Spring in the Romach Hills, just a short distance from the distillery.
