Joseph Rodgers is Sheffield's most famous knife maker and has been operating in some form since 1764 where they registered a trademark for The Star and Maltese Cross. Current day the Egginton group are still overseeing production of Joseph Rodgers cutlery and knives in Sheffield.
George Wostenholm was arguably the greatest of England's cutlery manufacturers and has an unrivalled heritage. The George Wostenholm name is still represented well by the Egginton group in Sheffield who are still producing traditional pocket and Bowie knives.
