Unique English style in the best possible way. Characteristic aromas of hedgerows and apple orchards, bright lemon green in colour, crisp elderflower and grapefruit flavours, medium length, good intensity, with a very fresh clean finish and a hint of sweetness. Excellent to drink now but will remain fresh for two years, developing more honeyed characters. This wine pairs very well with seafood, particularly shellfish, and fresh summer salads.
A great example of a quality English wine white and from a grape variety that is becoming regarded as the still wine varietal of England. A crisp, refreshing highly aromatic white wine characterised by gooseberry and elderflower on the nose. The palate is fresh and zesty with flavours of nettle, kiwi and freshly cut grass leading to a crisp, dry finish.
Deep lemon in colour with gold tints. A pronounced floral, honeysuckle and peach infused nose leads to a well-structured palate, with citrus and stone fruits. There is a pleasing flinty backbone to the wine and hints of spice on the finish.
This Bacchus was made from some of the ripest and cleanest grapes possible. In addition to this a small percentage of the grapes were picked on the cusp of ripeness. These differing ripeness levels give individual expressions of Bacchus; the ripe fruit producing tropical aromas and the just ripe fruit lending delicacy and freshness. The nose is intense and full of lime, gooseberries, cut herbs with an underlying elderflower fruit. On the palate the wine is crisp with a lovely texture that lends an excellent length. It pairs beautifully with smoked fish and spicy dishes and is wonderful at a BBQ on a hot summer’s day.
Intense and powerful citrus with rich green apple and tangy grapefruit aromas. Very fresh and and precise on the palate with crisp apple and soft sweet citrus notes. Isolated for its intense and powerful grapefruit freshness, broad tropical-fruit notes and herbal undertones, this is classic English Bacchus. These Bacchus Block grapes are from very ripe fruit, which had a kiss of botrytis (noble rot) for a touch of sweetness
