Gandys started in 2014 with the aim of creating ethical clothing whilst using a proportion of their profits to support their charity foundation. Gandys was founded by Rob and Paul Forkan after they tragically lost their parents in the 2004 Sri Lanka Tsunami, and they use their charity foundation to open centres to support orphans and local communities in underserved areas.Gandys started with their original flip-flop design and have grown to include various other products including swim shorts, backpacks and knitwear.
Some of their input materials are sourced come from the UK, and they often recover and reuse scrap fabric to reduce their waste.
All of their design work is done in-house by their team based in London, UK.
Gandys work with manufacturing partners across the world including in the UK, Sri Lanka, India, China, Portugal and Turkey. Their main priority is to work with manufacturers that make clothes in a fair, equitable and environmentally friendly way.
